List of 8 steps to enjoy a buffet

List of 8 steps to enjoy a buffet

I could exactly remember about my two first times at a buffet. They were very bad experiences when I could not control myself and I wasted a lot of food. The first time was in a Mississauga Japanese buffet. At that time, because there were a lot of delicious sushi there, I took as many as I could, but I could not finish that and had to pay a fee. The second time was when I ate at an Indian buffet in Mississauga, there was a bowl of soup which looked tasty, and so I took a lot. However, it was really spicy and strong, thus I did not eat that soup.

After those mistakes, here are the 8 steps which I luckily collected from a “food-a-holic” (Wiki How, n.d.):
1.     If at all possible, do a preliminary scouting of the buffet. That is a good time to make a buffet plan.
2.     Make an actual plan in your head on how you want to eat. By section or by course?
3.     As you go up to get food, approach the process like a mission. Which foods are good for you?
4.     The most important part of the process - MINI TASTING PORTIONS. Take a teaspoon of each food and try it first.
5.     Make a couple of trips to get your tasting portions. Get more what make your mouth water.
6.     If you get a tasting portion and hate the food, you don't feel like you have to finish it. It just a little amount food, and you do not have to feel that you wasted the food.
7.     When you identify the really, really great items, go back and get a bigger portion to enjoy it.
8.     When moving on to the dessert items, follow the same plan!                                                                                              Figure 3 (Tim, 2014)

There we go, those steps above look simple, but they are really useful and work for me.

Good luck and see you around Mississauga Buffet Restaurants xD,
Dean
